It’s not the high definition reality flat panel massive screens that I am looking for. That will not move me. Those who know the power of story know that instead it takes very little, requires that we use less. It is the simple lines drawn across my mind that reminds me of an age old story, the dance that we all live, the soft reality of my own imagination. It is the words of the poet to evoke the metaphors and archetypes that play out in my life, the nuances of voice and song to move me into the emotional waters of my own life, between love and loss, joy and pain. It is the gift of music that plays so close to the heartstrings. Story is best when it is simple—imagination and the reality of our lives will fill in the rest. The gift of story can then emerge as wisdom.
