How will the next generation enter politics?
No matter what your political beliefs, we all must look to the next generation to vote and run for office.
This week, I interview members of the Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) community about their “Election Stories” gearing up for the November 3rd elections. What inspires young people to engage in politics? How can we get more students involved? What are the barriers?
- Rachel Brown – candidate for Florida State Senate, District 27 (majority of Lee County), an FGCU student who has postponed her degree in Environmental Engineering to run for office
- Anselm Weber – candidate for Florida State House, District 76 (part of Lee County) and an FGCU graduate with a Bachelors in History
- Colby Brownell – campaign staff member and FGCU student, graduating December 2020 with a Bachelors in Entrepreneurship
