300 Years of Classical Music

Imagine a world without music. Today, music is everywhere. With our personal devices and headphones, we can walk around in our own personal soundscape.

However, in the memories of some of those alive today, music was something heard only in live performance. I imagine the wonder of hearing the beautiful voice of the violin for the first time or the deeper tones of the cello. In a time before radio and recordings, I imagine musicians with a deep inner drive to share music. Faces in the audience light up, entranced by the experience. Musicians practicing endlessly and traveling across the world, simply to share the music that is in their hearts and minds, to bring their personal soundscape into public spaces, to open the hearts and minds of an audience to the beauty of the world, to create a community connected by music and alive in the present moment.
