Millennials, also known as Generation Y or the Net Generation, were born between approximately 1982 to 2004. Every generation faces its own unique challenges. This generation has grown up with the Internet, instant communication, and social media. Every prior generation struggles to find the way to live in this new world, but the Millennials who grew up inside this modern world now must struggle to escape it. Millennials face a special challenge in being present with life.

Simon Sinek gives an inspiring interview on helping the Millennial generation integrate into the workplace and be more present in life. He challenges our society, our teachers, and our corporate leaders to help Millennials meet their challenges:

  • build confidence
  • learn social skills
  • learn patience
  • find balance between life and technology

To me, these sound like skills that we should all develop in order to meet the high-tech quickly-outdated fast-paced instant-gratification world that we now live in.
