If you are looking for a gift for a child, buy a book by Dr. Seuss! And even better, sit down this holiday season and read it to them. The poetic rhymes are fun for adults and kids, and the depth of the story reverberates for a lifetime. For my Living the Present Moment Study Group, I recently interviewed Dr. Evan Queler about practicing Lifestyle Medicine, and even he quoted the practical wisdom of Dr. Seuss.

In The Lorax, Dr. Seuss shows us how the world is interconnected. The Lorax is the guardian of the natural world. He tries to tell the Once-ler about the effect of cutting down all the trees and polluting the rivers, until all is lost … except for the hope of planting a seed.
